Suburb Information
This relaxed coastal residential suburb has a boutique feel whilst residents are spoilt for choice with schools, bus and rail transport, cycleways, foreshore parks and reserves. It also has it’s own mini mall at Birkdale Fair with a supermarket, specialty shops, take aways and more. It also includes a canal estate, Aquatic Paradise.

Originally a farming community it now hosts the country-style Howeston Golf Course, the sporting precinct of Judy Holt Park along with Birkdale Bushland Refuge, Merrill and Bob Ovenden Reserve, the Tarradarrapin Creek Wetlands and William Eickenloff Memorial Park. Aquatic Paradise Park West, on Commodore Drive, boasts a great range of facilities, including a dog off-leash area and electric barbecues.

Schools: Spoilt for choice there is Birkdale State School, Birkdale South State School, St Mary MacKillop Catholic Parish Primary School, Wellington Point Primary School serve this area, with Wellington Point State High School and Redlands College, a co-educational independent school, nearby.

Commuting: Birkdale railway station provides access to regular City train services to Brisbane and Cleveland. Transdev Queensland operates regular bus services, with a 24-hour weekend bus from Brisbane to Victoria Point.
